Caring for LED Lighting Strips - Emitever

Caring for LED lighting strips is relatively easy and straightforward. Here are some tips to help you keep your LED lighting strips in good condition:

1. Keep them clean: Dust and dirt can accumulate on the LED strips over time, which can affect their brightness and performance. To clean them, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe them down gently.

2. Avoid water (unless waterproof-rated): Most LED strips are not waterproof. If your strips are not IP-rated for wet environments, avoid getting them wet or exposing them to moisture. For outdoor or damp applications, choose from our waterproof LED strip lights with IP67 protection.

3. Avoid heat: LED strips can get hot, especially if used for long periods. Make sure they are installed in a well-ventilated area and not covered by any materials. Using a proper LED driver with thermal protection helps prevent overheating.

4. Use a compatible power supply: LED strips require the correct voltage and amperage for your strips. Using the wrong driver can shorten lifespan or cause damage. Use our LED System Builder to match the right driver to your strip.

5. Cut only at designated points: If you need to cut your LED strips, make sure you cut them along the designated cutting points. Cutting in the wrong place can damage the LEDs and affect performance.

6. Store them carefully: If you need to store your LED strips, keep them in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

By following these tips, you can help ensure that your LED lighting strips last a long time and perform at their best.
